If you are an EU customer of Juro, this guide explains how your contract with Juro complies with the EU Data Act.

Under the EU Data Act, Juro is a data processing service, and — as an EU customer — you have rights under the EU Data Act when it comes to switching. Juro is committed to compliance with the EU Data Act and to removing barriers to switching.

This information is provided to meet Juro’s transparency obligations under the EU Data Act.

What are my switching rights?

At any time during your Juro subscription, you can give us notice that you want to switch or erase your data from Juro and end your subscription.

Your right to switch applies whenever you want to change to a different provider of data processing services or to take those services in-house. Your right to erase applies when you just want us to delete your data, so you can walk away.

How do I switch away from Juro?

You need to give us two months’ notice if you want to exercise your rights to switch or erase your data. You can do that using any of the methods of notice in your Juro contract. The most straightforward is by email to our support team.

At the end of the two-month notice period, you will enter a 30-day transitional period where we support you with your switch.

Once that 30-day transitional period ends, you’ll have 30 days to request and receive a transfer of your data. We’ll then securely erase any copies we have left once that period expires.

You can extend the transitional period once for a period that you consider more appropriate for your own purposes.

Juro can extend the transitional period for up to seven months if it’s technically unfeasible to perform the switch. If we need to do this, we’ll tell you within 14 working days after you notify us that you want to switch.

You must keep paying your fees during your notice period and your transitional period.

What data can I export when I leave Juro?

We’ll give you a copy of your documents in Juro in a common format when you leave (normally PDF).

Our EU Data Act Addendum to your agreement sets our full details of the data we include within your export and the data excluded from your export.

What data can’t I export when I leave Juro?

We don’t provide you with data that constitutes Juro’s or its suppliers’ IP or trade secrets, or with data that is cyber security related.

A full list of excluded data types is set out in the EU Data Act Addendum that forms part of your agreement with Juro.

How does Juro’s contract meet the EU Data Act’s new requirements?

Juro has updated its terms for EU customers to comply with the EU Data Act. We have a new EU Data Act Addendum that applies if your service is within scope of the EU Data Act. Our EU Data Act Addendum forms part of your agreement with Juro and contains all of the mandatory provisions required under the EU Data Act, as well as making certain changes to exclude provisions that would be unfair under the new rules.

Does Juro charge switching charges?

We don’t charge for standard switching related services.

If you make unusual or bespoke requests, we reserve the right to charge for these at cost as additional services under your agreement with us until 12 January 2027. If we need to do this, we’ll tell you before starting work and get your agreement. If you don’t agree to pay, we won’t be able to meet the request.

Does Juro charge early termination penalties?

When you buy a Juro subscription, you enter a fixed duration contract that includes a minimum term commitment.

Juro relies on that minimum term commitment to do two things:

  • We keep our one-off onboarding charges low, often below the cost to Juro of providing implementation services.
  • We make long-term investments in building and improving the Juro platform.

If you wish to walk away before the end of your minimum term commitment, we charge a proportionate early termination penalty so that we can continue to make the investments described above.

Your early termination penalty is an amount equal to:

  • 100% of the fees payable by you relating to the period from your termination date until the end of your initial period; or
  • 50% of the fees payable by you relating to the period from your termination date until the end of your then-current renewal period,

(as applicable), each calculated on a pro rata basis. The early termination penalty is payable on the last day of your Juro subscription.

What if my notice period or transitional period overlaps with the end of my Juro subscription?

When you give notice to switch, we’re bound by the legal timelines for your notice period and transitional period.

To accommodate this, your notice automatically extends your agreement to cover the whole duration of your notice period and transitional period. Any part of those periods that falls after your initial period or then-current renewal period will count as a new renewal period, which ends automatically at the end of your transitional period. You don’t need to give us notice again to end your subscription at the end of that new renewal period.

What support does Juro give me when I switch?

Juro provides reasonable assistance during your switch. We also commit to act with due care to maintain business continuity and provide a high security standard throughout the switch. We’ll give you the relevant information you need to smoothly move your data, whether you’re switching to another provider or back to your own systems.

How does Juro keep my data secure while I switch?

We take our responsibility to protect the confidentiality, availability and integrity of your data during any switching process very seriously.

We have implemented comprehensive security measures designed to protect data in our custody against unauthorised or unlawful processing and against accidental loss, destruction or damage during transitions. These measures continue to apply during your transitional period and while we support you with your switch.
