On 1 June, we hosted a virtual launch webinar of Operator - Juro’s contract intelligence layer.
Richard Mabey, CEO of Juro, was joined by two customers to share how they're using it: Willem van Hooft, Head of Legal at SurePay, and Maninder Mann, Lead Commercial Counsel at Diagnexia.
In this post, we recap their use cases for Operator, and the positive impact it’s having on their legal team plus the wider business. We’ll also share a peek into what’s coming next.
In-house legal teams have been using AI as a copilot for a while now - a tool that helps you do the same work faster.
Operator is built to do more than accelerate. It's supervised AI that operates within your contract repository on Juro, takes on some of that work entirely, and always shows its sources.
Put simply: Operator is less like software and more like a new member of your team.

If the CFO now asks about payment terms or key obligations on a signed contract, Maninder no longer has to read it end to end.
With Operator, he can quickly generate a summary that refers back to the relevant clauses and provide a fast, informed answer to the CFO.
Finance, customer success and sales use Operator themselves, within guardrails controlled by Willem and his legal team.
Questions like "When does the contract expire?" or "How much notice time do we have?" are answered by Operator without routing every request through the legal bottleneck.
Maninder uses Operator to pull contract lists that previously took hours, sometimes days, to compile manually.
A pipeline view by contract stage and end date, all MSAs with a change of control clause above a certain value - now done in seconds and exported directly to CSV.
Understanding how contracts relate to each other can get complex. Willem knows this well - his team works with banks that appear across multiple contracts under different entity names, but with the same signing party.
He uses Operator to bring all agreements tied to a counterparty into a single table view, showing exactly how each document connects to the others. This visibility helped resolve a billing challenge for the finance team.
The impact goes beyond time saved. Operator changes what legal gets to focus on and puts contract intelligence into the hands of the rest of the business.
Both Willem and Maninder described the same shift: Operator can handle the low-value, repetitive work - freeing them up for more strategic priorities that are important to the business.
And because Operator scales without requiring additional headcount - it’s a dream come true for finance teams. Operator is well-suited to small but busy legal teams at scaling companies who can't just hire their way out of capacity problems.
Vendor agreements can be uploaded to Operator, automatically redlined, and triaged to the right person in legal.
Operator’s capabilities are being extended into Slack and email, so business teams can query contracts without leaving the tools they already work in.
Operator will surface data from previous contracts, so when a counterparty asks for uncapped liability, you'll know exactly how your team has handled that before.
