We’ll never be able to avoid contract negotiation entirely - but we can definitely make it faster, smoother and fit for the modern business. We explore how negotiations play out in different platforms, like Word, Google Docs, and Juro. Plus Laura Frederick, contract negotiation guru and founder of How to Contract, shares her top tips.

Laura Frederick is the Founder of How To Contract and the author of best-selling book on contracts: "Practical Tips on How to Contract". Laura has more than 25 years practicing law across the globe and has delivered over 100 hours of training to thousands of legal professionals in the process. Navigating the world of generative AI

How should lawyers embrace generative AI, whilst also mitigating risk for the wider business? Emma Haywood, Director and Principle Consultant of Bloomworks Legal, and Richard Mabey, CEO of Juro, share their insights.

Richard Mabey is the CEO and co-founder of Juro, the intelligent contract automation platform. Under his leadership, Juro has scaled rapidly, backed by $38 million in venture funding from prominent investors including Eight Roads, USV, Point Nine Capital and Seedcamp, and the founders of companies like Indeed, Gumtree and Wise.

Richard trained and qualified at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, working as an M&A associate in London and New York. He gained an MBA from INSEAD, and then spent time at LegalZoom, learning to build legal tech products.

Frustrated by the manual legal processes that slow down businesses, Richard co-founded Juro in 2016, with a mission to help the world agree contracts faster. Beyond Juro, he hosts the "Brief Encounters" podcast, makes angel investments, and supports other ambitious ventures from the boardroom. Richard is a Fellow of the RSA, an adviser to The Entrepreneurs Network and sits as a Non-executive Director of Bright Blue.

Emma Haywood is the Director and Principal Consultant at Bloomworks Legal, an organization providing legal consultancy services for purpose-led organisations. At Bloomworks Legal, Emma specializes in AI, intellectual property, commercial, and technology law.

Before starting her consultancy, Emma held the role of Associate General Counsel at Babylon, and she spent eight years at Slaughter and May where she was trained and qualified. Emma is also a vocal champion for alternative working patterns and greater flexibility in the legal profession.
