Juro vs Wordsmith

Why businesses choose Juro over Wordsmith

Wordsmith makes contract review smarter inside Word. Juro makes the entire contract process faster - from the first request to a signed, searchable repository - without Word, DocuSign, or a separate CLM.

What makes Juro the best alternative toWordsmith?

Wordsmith is a Microsoft-first AI layer for legal teams - built to run inside Word, Outlook, and Teams, not instead of them. Juro is a complete contract platform: browser-native editor, built-in eSignature, intelligent repository, and agentic AI across the full lifecycle - with no Word dependency, but the option to work in Word if teams wish.

Sign contracts where you draft them

Wordsmith has no native eSignature functionality. After drafting and reviewing a contract inside Wordsmith, it still has to leave the platform to be signed in a third-party tool. That's a separate vendor, a separate workflow, and context switching right at the finish line. Juro's legally binding eSigning functionality is built in and included on every plan.

Intelligent, AI-driven contract repository

Wordsmith explicitly positions its repository as sitting on top of your existing CLM, SharePoint, or storage - not replacing it. That means your contracts still live somewhere else. Juro is the system of record for contracts end-to-end: kanban pipeline, folders, automated reminders, and AI-powered portfolio queries via Operator, all without leaving the platform.

No Microsoft dependencies

Wordsmith is built around Microsoft. Its Blueprints drafting engine, playbook-based redlining, and AI review are designed primarily for Word, Outlook, and Teams, meaning teams not on M365 get less of the product. Juro works for everyone, offering a browser-native, comprehensive solution for your whole business, plus a Word add-in for teams that prefer to work there.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can Juro be used alongside Wordsmith?

Yes. Juro and Wordsmith announced a strategic partnership in August 2025, integrating the two platforms via Model Context Protocol (MCP).

The integration means Juro clients can use Wordsmith's AI agents as part of their Juro workflows, and Wordsmith clients can sync with Juro as their system of record and use Juro's CLM tools via the MCP connection.

For teams that want Wordsmith's AI review layer on top of Juro's end-to-end contract infrastructure - rather than choosing between them - the integration makes that possible.

That said, Juro is a complete contract platform in its own right: most teams find that Juro's built-in AI, browser-native editor, native eSignature, and intelligent repository cover the full lifecycle without an additional integration.

Does Wordsmith require Microsoft Word to operate?

Wordsmith requires Microsoft for its core functionality. Its flagship features - Blueprints drafting, playbook redlining, clause review, tracked changes - are all built as a Microsoft Word add-in.

Juro works in any browser for any team - and also has a Word add-in for teams that prefer to work there, giving you the flexibility to work where you want.

How do Wordsmith users rate the platform compared to Juro?

Juro is widely reviewed across Capterra and G2, and it is top-rated for ease of use and adoption. However, Wordsmith only has one public review across independent review sites, making it difficult to compare the two platforms based on user experiences.

Does Wordsmith have native eSigning?

No. Wordsmith has no native eSigning capability. Once a contract is drafted and reviewed inside Wordsmith, it still needs to be routed to a third-party signing tool. Juro's legally binding eSignature is included on every plan with no third-party dependency.

What integrations does Juro offer?

Juro integrates with Salesforce, HubSpot, Docusign, Slack, Microsoft Word, Google Drive, Zapier, Greenhouse, Ashby, ChatGPT, and a REST API. Zapier extends that reach further - it connects Juro contracts with 6,000+ apps without writing a single line of code.
