Placemakr is an apartment hotel operator that partners with developers and investors to curate a collection of apartment-like spaces in hand-picked neighborhoods.
With 2000 units across the US and beyond, Placemakr’s hospitality and sales teams rely on a wide range of contracts to sell into these properties.
The challenge: a slow and fragmented contract process
Placemakr’s sales and hospitality team used HubSpot to track deals but needed to jump between several tools to generate a contract when these progressed.
“The process was fragmented,” says Tom Carlton, Associate General Counsel. “A sales rep would have to go into Word to find a template, manually input all of the client’s information, send it for negotiation, move it into DocuSign for signing, and then store it in Sharepoint”.

Since Placemakr operates across different jurisdictions and booking types, the legal and sales teams were tasked with managing lots of different templates, each with minor variations in terms.
“There was always the risk that deal-specific edits would be made to the template, not realizing that this would vary the terms for everyone,” says Tom.
Placemakr’s Product Manager, Davis Troutman, reviewed the process for routine contracts and found an opportunity to drive efficiency.
“I realized that all of these transactions the sales team were working on had critical information that would be needed downstream by other teams.We were spending time manually inputting the same data points across three different tools.”
The requirements: what did Placemakr need?
Placemakr wanted to streamline their contract process and reduce repetitive admin, saving their team hours of time they’d typically spend manually populating contracts. To make that happen, they needed:
- One tool to rule them all: Placemakr needed to streamline contract processes - six different tools was five too many
- Consolidated contract templates: Placemakr needed to consolidate their contract templates using rules and conditions, making them easier to control and maintain
- Seamless HubSpot integration: to reduce the time spent manually populating agreements with client data, Placemakr’s sales reps needed a platform that integrated seamlessly with HubSpot CRM
- Greater visibility into contracts: Placemakr needed to provide other teams in the business with visibility into key contract data, making it easier to track critical information downstream
The solution: six systems replaced by Juro
Placemakr adopted Juro in April 2023 and has since rolled the platform out across various functions and use cases.
“The simplicity, intuitiveness and responsiveness of the Juro team during implementation was probably better than any SaaS vendor I’ve worked with, and I’ve worked with a lot,” says Davis.

Placemakr uses Juro’s integration with HubSpot to consolidate their contract templates using rules and conditional logic:
“The most powerful functionality for us is the ability to consolidate 12 contract templates into one. Instead of having a different template for each location or market," says Davis.
"We have one template that changes dynamically based on the city names or zip codes pulled from HubSpot. This makes the process of entering into new markets much easier too”.
The team no longer needs to source the right template and manually input the data or vary the terms. Instead, they can generate contracts directly from HubSpot, with the datapoints in the deal records used to automate this repetitive admin.

Placemakr’s legal team is exploring new applications of the tool, with Tom sharing his experiences using Juro’s AI Assistant to streamline the review process for third-party contracts:
“It’s great at identifying the few key areas we should focus on, and at flagging where terms differ from our preferred position,” says Tom. “I can still review contracts, but I can expedite the process with Juro’s AI”.
The results: 50 per cent of time saved on contracts
Placemakr estimates that the team halved the time it spends on contract creation and management through Juro. “Juro’s integration with HubSpot has cut the time they typically spend making edits and inputting data, or finding the right template, by 50 per cent,” says Davis.

Juro has also given Placemakr greater visibility into the efficiency of its commercial function.
“When contracts were spread across up to six different tools, there was no way to measure the time spent at different stages. With Juro, we’ve consolidated the process and now have structured data to give us these insights,” says Davis. “I’d definitely recommend Juro”.
