Approving contracts in seconds through Juro
Koombea is a US-based app development company that specializes in mobile and web app development projects. Koombea was founded in 2007 in Colombia, with headquarters in Florida. The business also has offices across North America, in New York, San Francisco and Chicago.
The challenge: a stressful, painful contract process
Koombea’s commercial team is responsible for sending a variety of routine contracts to the counterparty, such as NDAs, MSAs, SOWs, service agreements, referral agreements and employee contracts.
The end-to-end contract process, however, resulted in multiple pain points throughout the lifecycle, as Nicolas Costa, Director of Customer Ops and Account Management, explained.
“Every contract request went through me, and there were so many different edits I needed to make each time. I’m also not the one closing the deal; I'm just getting information from a sales representative, so there was plenty of back-and-forth to make sure the contract was accurate.”
This back-and-forth also extended to the negotiation stage with counterparties, and their lawyers. Both parties reviewed contracts in Word, which meant a lack of version control, which impacted Koombea’s sales and legal teams.
“We’d have an edited version of the contract coming to us from the lawyers, and another version with the CEO’s amendments. We’d then have to open documents up side by side and consolidate the edits. It was super stressful.”
The requirements: what did Koombea need?
Nicolas wanted a contract automation platform that would enable reps to self-serve and integrate with Salesforce: “we were looking for a better experience, and wanted a contract process that didn’t get in the way of sales.”
Nicolas also wanted to empower the HR team by creating a repository for both active and legacy contracts: “our employee documentation lives in different places, so we wanted to create a single workspace for contracts.”
Juro proved to be more intuitive for sales and HR teams, and addressed a specific need we had: to not let contracts stand in the way of growth
- Jonathan Tarud, CEO and founder, Koombea
The solution: contracts ready to sign in seconds
Koombea implemented Juro in 2018 to enable self-serve and create a repository for contracts. Koombea’s CEO and founder, Jonathan Tarud, found the switch to Juro to be a no-brainer:
"We already had a contracts platform in place but Juro proved to be more intuitive for sales and HR teams, and addressed a specific need we had: to not let contracts stand in the way of growth. I consider Juro a business-critical tool - and five years on, we’re still happy customers.”
Market-leading implementation times: “we uninstalled our existing contracts platform before we had even implemented Juro - we were that confident in the value Juro would add. We had everything ready in Juro within a week, and sent our first contract immediately,” Nicolas said.
Juro is #1 in the contract management category for fastest implementation and ease of setup on G2.
Approving contracts in seconds: “before Juro, it would take weeks to approve a contract, with a mess of different versions along the way. Now, it takes seconds, and we know which version is the final one.”
A world-class interface: “we initially established a Salesforce integration but I actually preferred working in Juro than Salesforce - it was easier to navigate, and more pleasant, which speaks volumes about Juro’s user experience.”
Redlining made easy: “the way we review comments and edit a contract in counterparty negotiations is much easier than it was before Juro. I also love Juro’s audit trail - the timeline of events is super helpful for tracking activity on a contract, especially for the sales team.”
Positive reception from counterparties: “our counterparties are happy negotiating in Juro - they appreciate the email notifications they receive every time someone leaves a comment. It’s great to see negotiations in Juro instead of receiving changes in a PDF or Word file.”
We’ve mitigated risk through Juro. I'm saving time, I'm saving money, and I'm saving myself from a lot of stress
- Nicolas Costa, Director of Customer Ops and Account Management, Koombea
The results: saving time, money and stress
Through Juro, Nicolas and his team have been able to streamline the contract process; enable self-serve; and create a contract repository.
“The way we’re set up with our contract process today couldn’t have been achieved with all the other tools we’ve used in the past.”
“On the legal side, we’ve mitigated a lot of risk through Juro. There’s a clear return on investment; I'm saving time, I'm saving money, and I'm saving myself from a lot of stress.”
