Juro wins the 2017 LegalGeek award

This is testament to some great work from our small but talented team and the champion customers who have supported us on our journey. Pavel and I started Juro on a very simple premise. Contract management systems are no longer fit for the modern business. I had seen this first hand as a lawyer and Pavel had already exited a software business.

Why are they not fit for purpose? First, a failure in design. Clunky, legacy products have changed little since they were released sometimes 15 years ago and this has meant not only declining adoption from legal teams but also from the end users on the business side who have to deal with these workflows every day. Second, you can have the best workflow in the world but that still doesn’t help you understand what your contracts actually say.

We are redesigning contract management to deliver a best in class, modern UI that is a critical component of the legal stack and a joy to use by sales, HR and the trusted stakeholders on the other side of contracts. We are also narrowly applying AI technologies to unlock contract data and give insight into contracts that are so fundamental to businesses right at the point when you are negotiating these important agreements.

It has been a rollercoaster 12 months since the last LegalGeek conference. And we have seen a step change in the legal tech narrative. No longer are we forced to talk simply about the future — what can be achieved in legal tech — instead we can start talking about solutions — what is actually happening today — and the ambitious legal innovators that are adopting them. It feels like momentum is building and we are proud to play a small part in driving that change.
