Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC) has been a launchpad for innovation since 1999, providing workspace, labs, and resources for startups, corporations, and investors. What began as a single location in Kendall Square has grown into a global network, spanning 1.5 million square feet and supporting over 10,000 organizations.
But with rapid expansion comes operational complexity—especially when it comes to managing contracts. CIC needed a contract management platform that could keep pace with its growth, ensuring efficiency without slowing down innovation.
Cambridge Innovation Center had previously adopted a contract lifecycle management (CLM) solution, but it fell short. Limited flexibility and editing capabilities meant most contracts were handled outside the platform, creating inefficiencies instead of solving them.
For Stas Gayshan, General Counsel at CIC, this meant manually updating individual contracts—an increasingly time-consuming and frustrating process as contract volumes grew and his team remained lean.
With their CLM contract coming to an end, Stas set out to find a better, more efficient way to manage contracts.
CIC needed a contract management platform that would cut down on routine admin for the legal and compliance team through intelligent automation and self-serve workflows.
When evaluating new solutions, Stas Gayshan had clear priorities:
After a frustrating experience with their previous CLM, CIC needed a platform that was reliable, widely adopted, and easy to use. That’s why they chose Juro—the platform with category-leading adoption and best-in-class support.
Fabio Amico, Compliance Coordinator at CIC, worked with his manager, Stas, to implement Juro when he first joined the company.
Fabio is the main user and platform administrator, meaning he works on setting up the contracts and workflows for the business. These contracts include the following contract types, and more:
“There is so much to love about Juro,” says Fabio. “The platform is extremely intuitive and easy to use for all teams. We can drag and drop elements, like a signature block, to prepare a signing request in just a few clicks.”
“We also appreciate how you can use automation in the platform to guide non-legal users through the contract process, which means less risk and greater adoption across the business,” Fabio explains.
“With Juro, the contract is already written, and non-legal teams can simply populate the smartfields and go, which reduces the chance of errors popping up.”
“We’re really taking advantage of the end-to-end functionality Juro offers,“ Fabio explains “We have people creating contracts, reviewing them, and approving them - all without leaving Juro.”
“We’ve also set up a lot of customization in the platform. For example, we’ve created custom rules that vary contract terms based on details like the average contract value, or the jurisdiction we’re working in,” he says. “We’ve also set up rules so that different approvers and signatories are triggered based on individuals’ seniority in the company.”
“All of these controls and rules give the legal team greater peace of mind when other departments are self-serving on contracts.”
Fabio reflects on his experience with Juro’s customer success team over the past year:
“Your support team are our angels and saviors. The experience we receive from them is amazing. They’re always responsive, kind, and extremely helpful,” he says.
“We’d definitely recommend Juro. It makes legal life significantly easier,” says Fabio. “With Juro, we no longer need to jump between PDFs, Word Docs, versions, folders and email chains. The entire contract process is faster and smoother,” he explains.
Beyond efficiency, Juro has also transformed how CIC stores contracts, eliminating the chaos of scattered documents.
“Now, we can trust that all our contracts live in one place—not buried in folders, subfolders, internal servers, or local drives. Everything is in Juro, making compliance much more consistent,” Fabio explains.
“Having seen such strong success with Juro so far, we’re now continuing to expand our use of Juro across the business, adding more teams, contracts, and templates to access more efficient contracting across the board. Most importantly, people actually enjoy using the platform, so it gets adopted.”
For Fabio, Juro’s biggest advantage is its continuous development. “I work with many different service providers, and the big difference with Juro is that it doesn’t just promise growth—it delivers. Some providers make big claims but only introduce small improvements. That’s not the case with Juro,” he says.
“I started my role at CIC a year ago, and even in that short time, Juro has advanced significantly. We’re excited to see what’s next.”
